Reader Appreciation

Author Dahlia Rose and I are having a reader appreciation luncheon on Saturday. I posted about it before, but check it out. Here's a picture of the basket we're giving away to one of our wonderful readers.

Inside is a Kindle Fire, 'cause you gotta get your read on! There's an Amazon gift card for $50.00, and other goodies. This is about how much we love our readers. I can't wait to see the face of the one who wins. I love it! Oh, we have other goodies too for ALL of the attendees. We just haven't put it together yet. Anyway, it will be exciting.

Seattle, Washington

Just back from Seattle, Washington for a writer's showcase. We had great fun. I got to meet authors face to face that I'd only seen on Facebook. Loved the city of Seattle and Bainbridge Island. I'm thinking I want to set a story there soon. :) I had big dreams of getting some writing done tonight, but I think I will goof off and get back to the grind tomorrow. Oh in case you're wondering, this place is Chihuly Garden where there are elaborate sculptures made from blown glass. They are amazing, and the picture just doesn't do it justice.

What I'm Doing

What am I doing right now? I'm sitting at my desk, stuck in the house, and eating a homemade cheeseburger. The dog is lying at my feet, and I'm staring at a blank page. Correction, I did write the title which is Can't Buy Your Love. This one is a Christmas story for Amira Press. I skipped over my sequel to For Toron's Pride to write this one. Here it is the middle of summer, and I'm about to write in some snow and hot cocoa to give my readers the warm and fuzzies for December. When I'm done with that, I'll switch gears and write In Hawke's Eyes, the sequel to Toron's story. Okay, I've wasted enough time. Back to writing. Happy day, everyone. (Crap, now I want cookies...)

Lookie! Lookie! I'm in Print!

Check it out. Whisper and Shira are together in a print book called Twin Leopards.

This book will not go on sale to the general public until after my two public events. The first event will be in Seattle, WA on August 24th. I will have the book there to sign for readers who attend. I'll include details as soon as I get them.

The second event is Lunch with Dahlia and Tressie. That is dated September 22nd. Lucky readers can sit down to lunch with me, Tressie Lockwood, and author Dahlia Rose. I will have the book available to my special readers who attend that luncheon in Charlotte, NC. Details are on my Facebook event page. Also, I will do a separate post on my blog with the details.

I believe I'll have another book first time in print at the signings, but I'm not sure yet. I should have a new story as well, not yet published that I'll make available to my attending readers. When I get the details, I will definitely share.

Coming Soon to Amira Press

Whisper

Whisper has always been in the shadow of her slimmer, sexier best friend. She doesn't expect that to change the night the two meet her tall, dark, and mysterious neighbor across the hall. At first sight, Alec doesn't appear to want anything to do with either one of them. He's too busy breaking the apartment building's rules about no pets. Whisper can't believe the size of Alec's pet leopard, one that quickly becomes attached to her. When Alec offers her five dates to put out or walk away, Whisper can't bring herself to be offended. The man is crazy. His pet has the same name as his twin brother, and what they do in the park at night should have her running in the opposite direction. Alec might be much more than a girl can handle no matter how bad she wants it.

Shira

Running from her abusive ex, Shira goes to her old school friend, Whisper, for help. Instead of Whisper, she meets Max, a sexy if gruff man she's immediately attracted to. Max seems just as dominate as her ex, but there's a gentleness to him too that draws Shira closer. When Max offers Shira a job, she jumps on it because she feels safe for the first time in a long time. Between Max and the leopard that saves her from her ex, Shira no longer has to live in fear. She's even falling for Max. There is only one problem. She can't compete with the beautiful blonde that still owns Max's heart.

Great Review for Tripp in Love

From Blackraven's Reviews:

Tripp in Love by Tressie Lockwood is a sexy romp with a feisty, but at times insecure heroine and a headstrong, gorgeous hero who is all alpha and knows exactly what he wants in a woman. The chemistry between Toya and Tripp is intense and the sex is explosive, yet tender as these two discover one another and forge a path to their Happily Ever After.

Toya is witty, intelligent, sexy and most of the time confident in her own skin. Her initial encounter with Tripp had me laughing as she struggled with how to handle the situation. You can’t help but love this heroine because she knows how to be strong and stand-up for herself when things become complicated in her relationship with Tripp.

Tripp exudes sensuality and is a force to be reckoned with when it’s something or someone that he wants. The man is sex on a stick and simply delicious. While he’s headstrong and knows exactly what or should I say who he wants in life, I like how Ms. Lockwood also allowed the reader to see the softer, sweeter side of this man who is full of surprises.

The secondary characters, especially Tripp’s brother, plays a pivotal role in the story by creating the additional conflict that tests Tripp and Toya’s relationship and that’s all I’m saying. Ms. Lockwood has penned a set of well-developed, three-dimensional characters who simply leap off the pages and quickly hold a place in your heart. The plot is engaging and I like how Ms. Lockwood allowed the story to play out instead of rushing the characters in a direction they were meant to go. Overtime, the secrets were revealed, the heartache and deceit from the past was acknowledged and then put where it belongs, and the future for this couple looked bright. The ending was an added bonus that I absolutely enjoyed and made me want to read the book again. :)

Tripp in Love is a tantalizing read complete with sexy characters who will grab your attention from page one and never let you go. If that doesn’t get your attention, then the scorching hot sex will because it’s off the charts. At one point during the book, I considering contacting the fire department because my e-reader was definitely on fire from the explosive passion these two exhibited throughout the story. Overall, Tripp in Love by Tressie Lockwood has it all, engaging, witty characters, a well-developed plot, smoking hot sex, and a love that is definitely everlasting. So, if you haven’t picked up a copy of Tripp in Love, what are you waiting on?
